Royal Voluntary Service, Big Society Capital
The Royal Voluntary Service is one of the largest volunteer organisations in the UK. There are 40,000 Royal Voluntary Service volunteers that help older people stay active, independent and able to continue to contribute to society. The Royal Voluntary Service wants to help create a society where everyone feels valued and involved whatever their age and they do this by providing practical and emotional help where and when it’s needed.

At RVS, Tamer worked as part of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer to define new strategic initiatives for the organization including the design of a comprehensive sector support organization that aims to increase the overall impact of the voluntary sector by facilitating collaboration and resource sharing. Tamer also worked with the Director of Strategy and Impact to explore strategies meant to address the challenges of transitioning from institutional-based to community-based care delivery for the elderly as well as for those at risk of social isolation.
