Susie joins On Purpose from Red Bee Media, where she worked on communications strategy for the BBC. Prior to that she spent several years working in advertising in the UK and Colombia, with clients such as Johnson and Johnson, the FT and a campaign to encourage Farc guerrillas to demobilise. She’s volunteered in schools and children’s charities in Chile, Brazil, Bulgaria and the UK, and helped establish a street paper for the homeless in Bogota. She read History and Spanish at Oxford University.

Susie reviewed ToughStuff’s sales strategy in the ‘Alternative trade’ market, and also led the introduction of a Customer Relationship Management system that allowed the creation and management of a global mailing list. She also focused on creating new commercial partnership leads, resulting in new income streams for the company and the initiation of a new kind of partnership with a UK-based utility provider. Finally, she led the process to bring a new product offering to market.
A think-tank consultancy, Volans drives market-based solutions to the world’s greatest challenges. Susie led Volans’ Breakthrough Capitalism programme, which explores how businesses and investors can be an effective force for good in achieving a healthy, fair and affordable world. This included co-authoring the thought leadership report Breakthrough: Business Leaders, Market Revolutions with John Elkington – which can be downloaded here – and developing outreach materials for the programme. She also worked on several consultancy projects for multinational companies.
