Mireya was part of the Investments team working closely with different Investment Directors in various projects. As part of the annual strategy review that BSC was undergoing, the Associate worked closely with Pepe Morales to understand the need of those that are financially excluded, segmenting the beneficiary groups, analysing existing providers of products and services for the financially excluded and detecting opportunities that would benefit from investment to reach self-sustainability. The former research justified the creation of a £15m fund.
Mireya was also responsible for the quarterly valuations of 2 social impact bonds focused in addressing Youth Unemployment. She also formed part of the team that developed the final version of “The Outcomes Matrix” a social impact measurement tool to help organisations understand and assess their social impact.
In her 2 last projects, the Associate was part of different teams that brought to the Investment Committee a) an investment of £10m in a managed account by Rathbones Investment Management to use as a backstop facility to invest in charity bonds in the UK and b) a £2.5m investment opportunity in an intermediary that provides property to social sector organisations that address social injustices.
